PHD Movie 2 by Jorge Cham

4. November 2015

The International Max-Planck Research School at the MPI for Brain Research and GRADE show you the latest PHD Movie 2 by Jorge Cham “Piled Higher and Deeper:  Still in Grad School“, in which the daily routine of PhD students – including lack of money, procrastination and seemingly never ending PhD projects – and their sometimes cynical, sometimes rather disinterested supervisors hilariously spring to life.  In this latest film the main topics are writer’s block, competition in research, a conference trip with the corresponding travel funds or the lack thereof and the competition for results.  Also, Cecilia has to finish her thesis quite soon before her supervisor goes on a sabbatical, or she risks being stuck in grad school for another year.

The PhD comics by Jorge Cham (PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Stanford University) are highly popular as PhD students can relate to one or more of the main characters.
