In order to "get on the rigth track" within the scope of the GRADE Career Talks, GRADE offers the opportunity to explore individual careers or companies and non-profit organizations as potential employers.
Participants will gain insights into various career paths, enabling them to make the best possible decisions concerning the future career. Besides gaining these fascinating insights, one can establish contact with participants in similar situations and exchange expectations and wishes in a relaxed atmosphere.
From Lab to Launch: Wenn aus Forschung ein Start-up wird

Innovectis, die Technologietransfergesellschaft der Goethe Universität Frankfurt, unterstützt Forschende von der Erfindungsmeldung über die Patentierung, Lizenzierung bis zur Verwertung und Anwendung ihrer Forschungen. Der von Innovectis geführte Goethe-Unibator ist das Gründungszentrum der Goethe Universität und begleitet Studierende und Forschende auf dem Weg von der Geschäftsidee zum erfolgreichen Start-up.
Verdanis will mittels Präzisionsfermentation nachhaltige und natürliche Aromstoffe herstellen, die bisher schlecht auf natürlichem Wege hergestellt werden können. Dazu greifen sie auf eine Technologie zurück, die im Zuge der Forschung auf dem Gebiet des Proteinengineering im AK Grininger an der Goethe-Uni entwickelt wurde. Diese Technologie wollen sie jetzt weiterentwickeln und in eine Herstellungspipeline einbetten, um die Forschung in eine reale Anwendung zu bringen.
Afra Berk ist bei Innovectis als Projektmanagerin für Transfer und Ausgründung tätig.
Chris Gusenda und Damian Ludig haben beide in Frankfurt Chemie studiert und anschließend bei Professor Grininger mit dem Fokus auf Fettsäuresynthasen promoviert. Aktuell arbeiten sie daran mit ihrer Forschung auszugründen.
Gemeinsam zeigen sie, wie aus wissenschaftlichen Ideen erste Gründungsvorhaben entstehen und wie der Transfer von der Hochschule in die Wirtschaft angestoßen wird.
A career in Drug Regulatory Affairs - Dr. Michael Felkel (Dermapham AG)

After studying pharmacy at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, Dr. Michael Felkel finished his PhD thesis in pharmaceutical chemistry. In the last years he worked as Regulatory Affairs Manager at Dermapharm AG, with a special focus on the development of semisolid dosage forms, covering both early development and marketing authorisation applications as well as licensing projects.
He is also responsible for scientific education of e.g. trainees with a pharmaceutical background and held several trainings and webinars e.g. regarding fundamentals of Drug Regulatory Affairs.
In his talk, he will share practical insights on the daily work as Regulatory Affairs Manager in pharmaceutical industry.
Who should participate? All scientists with interest in a diversified and exciting professional activity, covering scientific and legal aspects at the interface with other departments.
